Hi! I’m Diana —
I’m on a mission to get babies the milk that they need, while getting their moms back to mother knows best.
I’m here to listen to mothers, help them to identify and problem solve the underlying issues that lie between them and where they want to be on their feeding journey, while identifying realistic feeding goals.
Some babies are born being able to breastfeed with ease. Other times, for whatever reason, that just isn’t the case. Oftentimes, outside opinions and comments from people who are supposed to be looking out for mothers, but don’t actually know how, adds to the confusion and the pressure to perform in a certain way. When people aren’t invested in the same goal as you, what they say might be to meet their needs, instead of yours.
The reason that I am here is because I want to help mamas get to that place- of knowing that she is providing what her baby needs, and that no matter what, her baby can trust her to know best.
I have been a practicing RN in Alberta since 2012, and I have been working in a labour/delivery/postpartum unit since 2016. I have been an IBCLC since 2023. My goal is to bring mothers into focus. They deserve more healthcare experts who are willing to take them seriously.
When I’m not working, I’m often out getting sunburnt in my garden (the obsession with nourishment prevails), riding around the city on my bike, making sourdough bread, doing yoga, or watching great films. I may hold the world record for crying every time a character looks sad. This level of empathy is why I’m good at my work, and why it is so rewarding for me. I care.
I look forward to meeting
you and your baby —
